Our Mission
Since 1906, the citizens of Saanich have supported the members of the Saanich Police Department as they performed their duties to serve and protect those who live, work and play in our beautiful Municipality.
In 1956, the Saanich Police Association (SPA) was founded to act as the voice of these members and continues to act in that capacity to this day. The SPA has always supported and maintained relationships with those in their community, however the SPA decided to adopt a more organized and predictable strategy to engage with and support their community partners and with those in need. Accordingly, the SPA has formed The Saanich Police Association Charitable Foundation as a vehicle to provide this organized and intentional outreach and support to the community.
About SPACF
Comprised of current and former members of the SPA, the goal of the Charitable Foundation is to support community initiatives that may originate within the Municipality but could very well have region wide impacts. This could include charitable endeavours or public initiatives related to crime prevention; community outreach and engagement; diversity, equity, and inclusion; mental health and substance use disorders; youth leadership; or activities that contribute to positive community spirit. Today’s members of the Saanich Police Association, and those who have served in the past, take this opportunity to invite you to help us give back to the community that has supported and sustained us for over 100 years.
Our Initiatives
The Saanich Police Association Charitable Foundation is dedicated to supporting local community programs while promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Through a range of initiatives, the foundation works to uplift underserved populations by providing scholarships, funding mentorship programs, and organizing events that foster cultural understanding and respect. By collaborating with local organizations, businesses, and leaders, the foundation ensures that resources and opportunities are accessible to everyone, regardless of background. With a strong focus on reducing inequalities, the foundation is committed to creating a more inclusive environment where all individuals have the chance to succeed and contribute meaningfully to the community.
